Q: We are due to sail on the Ventura in October 08 and have an outside cabin on "D" deck (D735)at the rear of the ship which is 2 decks up from Havana night club. Has anyone staying at the rear of the ship experianced any noise from the Havana Club and what are the size of the balconies. We have booked freedom dining and from the comments I have read it would appear the best to to book is early evening, would booking for 7.30pm be "early enough" to avoid long waits.

We were on D deck in a mini suite. The balcony was I think 8'x6' and had a decent table and 2 chairs, suitable for dining or just to sit and read. We had no noise whatsoever, and booked breakfast in our room every morning just to wake us up! Freedom dining can be booked by calling or visiting the restaurant in the morning. If you book for 7.30pm you will be seated within a few minutes. We prefer to eat later and often found the 8pm-8.30pm slot was heavily booked, so booked for 9pm instead. We didn't find a problem once we realised you can't just turn up at 7.15pm and be seated, the tables are booked on the hour and half hour.

Thankyou Mrs Mitchell for your comments. I was a little concerned about the noise and freedom dining after reading a few reviews so it was nice to have an honest opinion from someone who has experienced it "first hand".Happy cruising to you
