Always in August, Sometimes in September, Occasionally in October and Never in November. That was how I was told to expect hurricanes in the Caribbean. Of course, with the crazy weather we get nowadays, who knows? The ship will have all the latest gizmos to forecast and track weather systems, so the Captain will be able to steer clear of most of any bad weather. Hope all goes well.

Almost there Arthur http://www.hurricaneterrapin.com/ no dot between hurricane and terrapin. We were involved in the Caribbean in 1997 on a NCL ship and we sailed into St.Maartins which was in total darkness pending a hurricane, took on stores and headed well into the Caribbean away from the problem. There was some heavy rain and the sea was a bit choppy but it was clear by the following day. Luckily we were on a 14 day cruise and St.Maartins was fitted into the second week.

Difficult question to answer as October in tropical Caribbean waters can be chancy. Of course the ship navigating staff will steer a course that will take you away from the obvious. This might involve changes in the itinerary. An excellent source of reliable info is www.hurricane.terrapin.com. They update several times a day with storm tracks.
