Q:
I am going on a P & O min cruise stopping at Zeebrugge. Can anyone tell me is it easy to get to bruge under your own steam rather than booking a P and O organised trip? Do they still do a shuttle bus to Blankenburg?

We visited Bruges on the 12th April whilst on the 'Welcome to Ventura' weekend. This was our 5th visit to Bruges. Usually we would take the ship's courtesy bus to Blankenburg which drops off right by the Station and then catch the train to Bruges. This only costs a fews Euros & the journey takes about 15 minutes each way. The Station in Bruges is a walk though to the centre for those less mobile. As we had taken my partner's mother on this cruise who isn't mobile, we took a taxi directly after disembarking at Zeebrugge and this took us right to the centre of Bruges. The journey took about 20 minutes each way and cost a total of 90 Euros return (this was for 4 of us). Certainly worth it for the less mobile, but otherwise the courtesy bus & then the train is certainly a cheaper option. Obviously if you are in port on a Sunday, then the train service is limited

Last time we went they still had a shuttle into town, also the option of coach into Bruge at reasonable cost. Shuttle drops you off near bus stops, very easy to pick up local bus to Bruge, although Blankenberge is very nice and worth a visit, especially if the weather is nic
