P&O Cruises offering free cruises to volunteers

First time cruisers are being given the chance to test out the six ships run by P&O Cruises.

In the new initiative called ‘Inspector Cruiso’ P&O Cruises are offering free cruise holidays in 2008 to 12 families, couples, or friends who have never been on a cruise with the company before.  The chosen participants will also receive on board credit of £300 per family or £150 per couple to spend on board the ship to ensure they get the chance to try out everything each ship has to offer.

In exchange, the participants will be asked for their thoughts and opinions about the cruise, from check-in to disembarkation.

The line's managing director Nigel Esdale said: "Despite the explosion in the popularity of cruise holidays and people becoming more aware of what is on offer in the market, there are still people that think cruising is not for them."

He added: "We are prepared to put our money where our mouth is and offer free holidays to people who haven't cruised with us before.

"Winners will have the chance to tell it how it is and their views will be posted on the P&O Cruises website. We want to ensure that we get the real views of new comers and transparency in the information received."

Entrants must fill in an online questionnaire; choose the ship they wish to travel on and why.

The closing date for entries is February 1, 2008 with winners notified by February 28. Volunteers who think they fit the bill can go to www.inspectorcruiso.co.uk to find out more about the requirements of being an Inspector Cruiso. To find out more about 2008 P&O cruises

There are a number of people on this site who state they cannot get onto the P&O competition website. I note that some of the spellings seem to be wrong (and these from school teachers!). The site is www.InspectorCruiso.co.u

WE have been wanting to go on a cruise and have just been let down for 2008 by a company so we would be very happy to be volunteers as then we would be 'green' cruisers with support and would be very happy to comment on it. I am an ex deputy head in a primary school so am well equipped to observe and comment constructively Please consider us as willing volunteers

My husband and I would like to try out your free cruise deal we are not first time cruisers but have never with cruised with you before, our favourite cruise line is celebrity and I would like to see if you come up to their standards. We find it very difficult getting to Southampton or we would use more of the ships that sail from there. try me and see my reactions I am a very observ'ant person and would give you a true report

My husband and I have alwys thought about going on a cruise but have never plucked up the courage to go on one. We both retire in 2008 and are considering something special to celebrate the event. We both agree that a P&O Cruise on the 'Queen Victoria' would be an absolutely wonderful way to begin our retirement. Such luxury! Please, please allow us to be volunteers!!!

Could not bring up www.inspectorcrusio.co.uk which has disappointed me as I would liked to have applied to try a test cruise as I have not cruised before, Have looked a few times but have not yet cruised. As a retired Gov. School Inspector, might be the right person for this. berylpatricia@btinternet.c
