P&O Cruises Appoint Harrison as Executive Purser on Ventura
Born and educated in South Africa, Patrick began his career with the Southern Sun Hotels, he then moved to Sun International Hotels, which included a two year period at the World famous Sun City. He joined P&O Cruises in 1994 and has served on all but one of the ships in the fleet. He has previously been responsible for bringing several ships into the fleet, including Oceana in 2003 and Arcadia in 2005. Patrick Harrison said: “I am really looking forward to working onboard Ventura and seeing her set sail for the first time. The role of executive purser is demanding but very rewarding – especially on a ship of Ventura’s size. It is an honour to be chosen to launch a new ship – Arcadia in 2005 was the biggest ship yet for the fleet but Ventura is even bigger and will be a fantastic ship to work on. We will be looking after more than 3,000 passengers in 1540 cabins, day in day out, and the choice on this ship is really quite exceptional. With 10 places to eat, 10 places to drink and a multitude of entertainment and relaxation areas, it is essential that I have a good, strong team, and I have definitely got that on Ventura. We’re all very much looking forward to welcoming people on board for the first time in April." P&O have announced an exclusive offer for Ventura: Riviera Romance - 14 night cruise, setting sail on 30th May 2008 from Southampton then Vigo, Lisbon, Palma, Barcelona, Cannes, Rome, Ajaccio, Gibraltar and Southampton.
