We wenton the P&O Cruise Mexican Magic on 8th March 2007. The cruise itinerary was wonderful flying to Acapulco and visiting Huatulco, Mexico, Guatemala, Balboa, Panama City, Panama Canal transit, Limon, Aruba, Grenada, Trinidad and finishing up in Barbados. The Thomas Cook overnight flight from Gatwick to Acapulco was horrendous - one false start due to a ill passenger who had to be taken off. We had been unable to book a seat upgrade on the outward leg of our journey and had to suffer the ignomy of economy class - my wifes window seat being 4 inches narrower than the others in that row and raked at an angle - made for a very uncomfortable flight indeed. Coupled with a fuel stop in Cuba - the overall time spent on the plane was 15 hours - far too long in such cramped conditions.
Transfer fvrom Acapulco airport to the ship was OK as were arrangements on board with a very nice spacious cabin being provided.
Restaurant service was quite acceptable but the food choice and range was very mediocre indeed. The Gary Rhodes restaurant on board was excellent - but of course you pay more for that.
Bar and hotel sevice very good.
Activities on board were of an acceptable standard and suited us perfectly - especially quiz nights and the dancing classes. However numerous activities were cancelled e.g. b-b-q, due to an outbreak of novo-virus on board with attendant health restrictions being imposed on all passengers.
Sight seing organised by P&O of a good standard although a little expensive.
On-board enterntainment within the theatre was just about OK, seating arrangements were wierd and some of the acts were of a poor standard.
Overall a good cruise - the highlight of which was the Panama Canal transit - unbelievable.
Return Thomas Cook flight from Barbados to London Gatwick much better tahn the outward leg - chiefly due to a seat upgrade.

| Garard Kenny very good. Scottish comedian (we forget his name) was awful. The resident troupe Circus act was also poor. | | Shore Excursions | |
| Best excursion was the visit to the Panama Canal locks at night. Poorest excursion was Panama City (daylight). | | Staff | |
