Arcadia Venitian Magic - enjoyed it very much

After reading previous reviews of the Arcadia I was getting quite worried about the quality of food and entertainment, however it all turned out to be fine. The food was always good and hot in the Meridian and the Belevedere although busy at times, coped very well I thought. We quite often had to share a table with other couples but that was a good thing as we chatted to many different people who we then passed the time of day with during the rest of the cruise. The entertainment was quite good (not the best we have had on previous cruises), the Headliners worked very hard and I thought the shows got better. I did feel that the musicians around the ship could have had more dialogue with the passengers, particularly the Tritones (never spoke a word with us or themselves!). Cruise Director was not very professional on stage, sounded like she was just at work - not entertaining! Cabin G33 outside was best we have had. Took our own drinks onboard to have whilst dressing! Steward made sure we had ice every day. We managed to get sunbeds on every occasion we went out to sunbathe, passengers were very considerate and vacated beds when they were leaving for more than half an hour. I am 55 and I felt that the ages of the passengers were mixed so if you were younger or older you didn't feel out of place. P & O organisation regarding going ashore was excellent, they tried to get you on shore as soon as possible and provided more than adequate shuttle buses or tenders). All in all I felt it was an excellent holiday for those people who wanted to go on a child free cruise. A previous concern of mine was that on the Oceana, (children as you would expect) took over the pool and adults found it difficult to find space at any time, so I booked an adults only cruise however as I only went in the pool about 5 times - is this enough to go for an adult only cruise again on the Arcadia - I am not sure! If you are going on the Arcadia ignore negative comments unless you are really picky and determined to find fault, you will enjoy.

I was also on this cruise, one of my best cruises ever and i have cruised many times. I would not hesitate to cruise on this ship again. We had loads of fun, all ages on board, staff simply wonderful, biggest cabin we have had on any ship.

I was on the same cruise and am certainly not a moaner but will not be going back on Arcadia in a hurry. I thought the menu in the meridian restaurant was poor compared to previous cruise ships. If you want a very quiet cruise then Arcadia is fine but there were very few young people around (less than 55) and there was very little 'buzz'around the ship. You can certainly get a sunbed and access to the pool and the theatre was good although the ship lacks a cinema, films are shown in a classroom with uncomfortable chairs. I agree that shore excursions were excellently organised but for me the ship lacked an essential ingredient....fun.
