June 6th 2 night cruise to brugge on aurora (p&o). It was for my dads 60th birthday and it did not dissapoint. The boarding process was extremely efficient and the staff so welcoming. I had always thought of P&O as a little old fashioned and stuffy but this was NOT the case. Although aurora cabins (we had a balcony ) are on the small side they were nicely furnished with a bath and overbath shower. Our cabin steward was lovely and very attentive. the shows were great and on sailing from southampton (in good weather) the crew made it a lovely party atmosphere. the highlight for us though was the main retaurant. Our two waiters quickley caught on to some of us being a bit fussy and rearanging the menu to suit our tastes but nothing was too much trouble. They even found helium to inflate special balloons on the night of my fathers birthday meal. They also brought extra starters etc when people decided they wanted what somebody else had and they did it all in such a friendly way and always with a smile. They made the trip special! the entertainment was very good for a short cruise and even though there were hen partys etc on board the atmosphere was really great and our party ranged from 2 years to 61years and i would definately now consider a longer cruise on p&o)
