Our 1st cruise and it was great. Embarkation was quick except they had a bit of a problem with my cruise card but they ot it right on the 3rd attempt! If it had not been for that we would have been through in about 10 minutes.
We only had an inside room but it was spacious enough, clean and the bed was very comfy; we even slept in late on the first morning which is not like us at all.
The food is not fine dining but it is very good and sufficient choices to ensure there is something for everyone. If not the sirloin steak is great! We ate in the oragery for one breakfast and a couple of lunches but I am baffled as to why anyone would eat there too often as the food and service in the restuarants is so good.
The bars are wonderful especially the crows nest. We are booked on the Ventura in January and I must admit I am a bit disappointed that there is not one on that ship but I am sure there will be other bars we like as much, just not with the wonderful view.
The entertainment was the only thing I found a disappointment. Not enough in the evenings especially if you are on the 2nd sitting which we were because we did not book the cruise until early May. The only ones I really enjoyed were the comedians.
Overall a wonderful ship and I would recommend P&O especially if you like me enjoy dressing up. I canot wait until January and I am hoping that as we have a balcony and as it is only our second cruise we will enjoy it more than some of the people who have made such negative comments about it.

Evening meals in the Alexandria, breakfast and some lunches and afternnon teas in Medina - all very good and with excellent service.

We did 3 and thought they were reasonable prced, best was Madeira.

Mario was our room steward. Sorry I cannot remember our waiter's names but all of the staff were terrific.

We only read and relaxed during the day if we were not on an excursion.
