Christmas Caribbean 2007

It was the second time we had cruised on the Oceana.
We flew out of a foggy and wet Gatwick on the 21 Dec 07 and arrived in a sunny and warm Barbados.
The trip to the Oceana was quick and in no time we were on board and in the Bar. The first Island was St Lucia and a Catamaran Trip to the Pitons. Geat weather and a good excursion. The weather for the 15 nights cruise was great only a few clouds . The only thing about visiting so many beautiful Caribbean Islands is you get them confused. It was great to wake up walk out on the balcony and see yet another tropical paradise coming into view. The beaches of Aruba and Cozamel were soft white sand and torquiose seas. We did a mixture of beach excursions and some boat trips to remote beaches and snorkelling. We went with a lot of friends and twenty something sons and daughters (37 total )so the evening nightlife was very lively. Christmas and new years eve were fantastic evenings. Between our large party we went on many of the P&O Excursions and I don't think any of them were bad. The local people were very friendly at all the Ports/ Islands we called at.
The food was as usual very good and varied. We have been with P&0 before and the standard has always been great.
We had 1 outside balcony cabin and 1 inside cabin opposite and this worked well for us. Although the balcony was a bit of an expensive luxury as we did not use it as much as we thought we would.
The Oceana is looking a little dated compared to the new cruise ships. We are on a Med cuise on the P&O Ventura Summer 2008 .
