I was on the Maiden Cruise but I think it must have been a different Ventura!! Food and service very good. Entertainment outstanding. Could this have changed so radically over a few weeks?

Totallty agree the entertainment was a real let down not worth the effort to view compaired to Royal Caribbean who are 110% on the ball. Will choose Royal Caribbean next time without a second thought. Better in every way, does anyone else agree?

Artemis is a very friendly ship and the fact that it is child free is an added bonus, for us at least, nothing against children but we have been there and done that and now leave it to the young instead of moaning about their behaviour as we would undoubtably do, although some are well behaved of course. We have sailed on Artemis three times now, but she is looking very tired despite her recent refit. Let's face it, she is an old ship and expectations shouldn't be too high, however, she does have a certain charm about her. Sadly we have decided to give P&O a miss now that they have changed their smoking policy, (don't want to start yet another futile debate on that one) just giving a reason for our decision, although my husband is a non smoker. Another reason is that we feel P&O standards have slipped since "Carnival" took over and we are no longer as impressed with P&O cruises as we were. However, it is something only you can decide upon, everyone has different experiences on a cruise, ours just happen to have been a bit negative in recent times. Happy cruising.

I tend to agree somewhat with your comments about P & O's standards dropping since their take over by Carnival. If your remember at the time P & O originally intended a friendly merger with Royal Caribbean. Things were moving ahead smoothly when Carnival put in a hostile bid. Eventually as we all now know Carnival succeeded and Royal Caribbean lost out.I wonder if the merger had gone ahead whether we would have experienced the same dropping in standards. I suspect not.
