Well - what can I say about the ventura. What a wonderful experience!

For those of you who travelled on the Ventura's maiden voyage to the caribbean, sorry but we were the lively crowd who made all the noise!!!! But we were just so overwhelmed by the whole experience, it was hard not to be excitable the whole time!!!

Embarkation onto the ship was smooth, and efficient and I was hugely impressed. Once we'd gone through security, we were ushered to the top deck until our Cabins were ready. Fifteen minutes later the call came and we went to our cabins, where some of us had recieved our luggage outside the door already, others waited a couple of hours, however on a ship of its size, a couple of hours wait hardly seems unreasonable!

From the moment we set foot on board, food was on the go and everyone was enjoying themselves!!!

The initial sailaway party was lovely however i will say that after that, we didnt see much of the entertainment team until the next sailaway!

Only food venue I wasnt impressed with was the Ramblas tapas bar..... i thought paying £5 for hardly any food was a bit of a liberty, however, a quick trip to the waterside afterwards soon solved that problem!!!! I did complain to reception about the service and portions in the bar, however noone got back to me. Still, never mind!!!

All the staff were exceptionally friendly, everyone has their favorites obviously, however Marvin, Amit and James by the Laguna pool and Raymond and Ronald in Havana were by far the most efficient and friendly and they deserve commending for thier hard work and service with a smile!!!! Nothing was too much trouble for them.

The reception staff were all exceptionally helpful as well, whenever i telephoned from my room, or visited in person.

Overall, it has to be the best holiday i've ever been on.... Food was exceptional, Service great, Cabin always kept tidy, Room service was efficient, Entertainment was average with exception of the shows which were super (except the pirate one!!!), comedians were funny but it would have been better if at the 11pm showings they were allowed to be a bit daring, as they werent able to be rude or crude due to it being a family ship. I think that the 11pm showings should be adult only!

Not too keen on the whole 'only allowed to smoke on one side of the ship' rule, but i dont know if this is standard on all ships so wouldnt like to moan about that too much!!!

Only real complaint was the amount of older people who were such stiffs - if they didn't want to be around lively young people, they should've booked a saga cruise!!!! There was plenty of people of all age groups though so we just ignored the miserable ones!!!!!

All-in-all, if P&O will have me back, I'm going again if the price and time is right!!!

This is one not to be missed peeps!!!!!

A good review. I recall the same exciting feeling when we did our first transatlantic to the Caribbean. The sense of well being and anticipation as the weather gets better and warmer as you approach the tropics is exciting. It is difficult not to get into a party mood! Having read many of the Ventura's reviews re that crossing it is very evident that 3000 passengers on so many consecutive sea days is a recipe for aggravation. There are more comments about fellow passengers and sun beds than there are comments about the islands visited! Re the comedians material I think you will find P&O are normally quite conservative about what is allowed to be used. It is a bit more relaxed on the Arcadia which is adult only. We are on the Ventura in January so I am interested to see what the overall reviews are like during the next few weeks. No doubt you are perusing the brochures already having enjoyed this one so much. Good luck.

No comment. Apart from saying being overwhelmed by the experience dosnt give you and your party Carte Blanche to be so EXcitable to the detriment of others.

I'm glad you enjoyed Ventura. This makes it unlikely we are ever going to be on the same ship! Consider this......... in 20 years you'll be an old stiff!

in 20 years, i may be older, but i will enjoy seeing people having a good time, not complaining about them having a good time, cause i dont know how to!!!!! anyway, i dont wish to cause offence, just thinking that some people really dont know how to have a good time!!!! Well, they should've joined our crowd!!!!

Benn, you are from Romford for Christs sake, should you be on a cruise ship? There is a perfectly good ferry down on the Thames near you.
